On Wisconsin!

It was a nice and quiet morning when I got off the bus downtown.  The streets were quiet, students were in class, and I felt like I could breathe.  The weather was beautiful, I saw members of the UW Marching Band attend class in their gear, and took a nice walk down Library Mall.  It was one of those days I realized how much I absolutely love the University of Wisconsin.

Yes, it might also be in part to the Badgers clinching the conference title and heading to the Rose Bowl, but I am loving Madison in the winter.

I have a busy, busy day today.  Running around to different events.  And I am just feeling under the weather still.  I wish I could go back into bed and cuddle until I really have to run errands.  But, I’ll try to stay out and get as much done today as I can.

It’s homework time for me.  And maybe some more time for rest and relaxation!

Lots of Misteltoe

A lot has happened.  Let’s just list it out.

1.  I got my new iMac.  I absolutely LOVE it.  I mean, I can use it to watch movies and TV from my bed, plus it has great speakers to listen to music in my room.  And, I was able to finance it, which made it all so much better.  I felt so awesome leaving the Apple store with so much.  But, because I did get myself something so great, I will be giving back so much this Christmas time.  Always donating to the Salvation Army, donating old winter coats to charity drives, and giving away clothing to those that cannot afford warm clothing this Christmas.

2.  I did get a new phone too.  I’m in love with Foursquare, loving having internet access 24/7, as well as being able to keep up with my e-mails.  It was getting dicey there for a bit, but things are so much better now with this phone in my life.

3.  Thanksgiving was fantastic.  I was able to spend time with both my family and Sam’s family.  Tons of good food, pie, and gravy.  Really…Thanksgiving has the best food and wine. :)  It was also a relatively accident/drama free Thanksgiving.  Which I am so grateful for.  But, with the holiday, I really realized how grateful I am for my life.  Which, again, is why I am giving back as much as I can.

4.  ROSE BOWL bound Badgers??  Yes, it’s true!  The UW/NU game was so much fun to go to.  And Camp Randall’s grass is so cushy.  I took tons of photos to ensure those fast memories will all be remembered.

5.  And now it’s time to start decorating for Christmas…and listen to Christmas music!

I am in love with JJ Watt!

Today was one of those fantastic days.  I started off with coffee and a croissant, and it just went up from there.  With more coffee, of course.

It was a day I just loved being a librarian.  I ordered by first ever set of business cards the other day.  And I was excited about going to meetings all day today and class tonight.  It’s been forever since I have been excited for class…but I think it has a part that I am beginning new classes in a few weeks.  Luckily, I have a few holidays to get through between now and then.

This all stems from the large change I have had recently.  I could finally tell myself a week or so ago that I am a strong, successful person.  And it almost brought tears to my eyes that I never felt that way about myself before, or at least I haven’t for such a long time.  I deserve to be successful, and smart, and to have a great job.  I deserve to be happy.  And I am so freaking happy right now.  It’s like everything in life is double rainbows.  (Please youtube double rainbow.)

Next semester I am fulfilling a dream I’ve had for some time — taking dance classes once again.  I am taking Ballet II, and am so excited to get some new ballet slippers.  And I mean, dance shoes.  Not just cute flats.  It’ll be good to dance again, and it’s nice I can do this through courses instead of paying for it in town.  Thank goodness for tuition remission!

And I walked past the Hoofers hallway at the Union today and really started to miss sailing.  I’m 100% sure I’m going to continue this summer and start sailing Lasers and Bytes.  :)

There are two things that I thought about all day long:

1.  Why are airports the only places that really utilize walking sidewalks?

2.  I’m confused by people who take their bikes on the buses.  That’s two forms of transportation — can’t you just choose one?

And something as awesome as this just makes your day that much better.
